Le Fauteuil du Diable

Near Rennes-le-Bains, there’s a large boulder, carved in the shape of a throne. It has many symbols carved in it but it is uncertain from what date they are, some of them are probably fairly recent. Next to this Devil’s Armchair as it is called by the local populace, lies the Source du Cercle or Source of the circle, a small circle-shaped spring. It is said that this is the throne that is missing from the crouched statue of Asmodeus in the Eglise Madeleine in Rennes-le-Château.
